This review is for the Goddess "Kayla" Support underwire bra.I have been reading a lot of reviews and trying to find a good bra for my very ample, pendulous breasts (about 40J in US, or 40GG in UK). I'm 5' 2 3/4", short torso, "hourglass" body shape, and somewhere around 200lbs at the moment (subject to rapid fluctuations). The reviews for this bra were pretty decent, so I decided to give it a try, following the advice of at least one reviewer (order up 2 cup sizes). This bra (ordered size 40L) has a great fitting band, but just a tad larger than what I need. The cups were just a smidgen too big. I am returning the bra, but I am considering ordering one cup size down, because I think that might work and give me full coverage. The straps are semi-stretch and adjustable. The "leotard" back is great for my broad, but sloped shoulders. I'm given full coverage, but because I'm a bit shallow on top (depending on the day--and I'm at my "fullest" right now), the material is just a little too much and wrinkles. The center does sit against my sternum, but not flat enough.Pros: BEAUTIFUL! It is seriously a beautiful bra (got the teal-ish color)"Upcurve" in the center, which is a feature I need.Full coverageSeemed supportiveGood straps.Cons: Doesn't fit quite right (trial & error?)Banded, which is not good for us short/short torso gals.Because I only tried on the bra, and have to return it, I cannot write as thorough review as I'd like. I put it at three stars, because I might be willing to teak the size to see if I can get the perfect fit, and it otherwise seems like a well-made bra. Plus, it's pretty!UPDATE:After much consideration, and doing a little bit more reading about "sister bra sizing," I decided to order Goddess "Kayla Banded" bra (this time in "Storm Eden" print) again, instead of the previous size of 40L, I went with my "sister size" of US 38K (based on calculations of perfect fitting Elomi bras, which are UK size 40GG). This "fixed" all the previous issues I had with the other bra.Now the center gore rests against my sternum (taller than I prefer, but it does give fuller coverage), as it should, the straps are not too elasticy and are fairly comfortable. Again, the "up-curve" is a good fit for me (especially with my dramatic mass increase since the last attempt!)-- I have a short torso, and thanks to corticosteroid, a "gut." The cups are very comfortable and supportive. The underwire is only noticeable because of my mass increase, and part of that is because of the "monthly bloat." I've worn the very wrong size of bra for decades, so I have "Omega boob" (a certain website gives information about this obstacle), but this definitely gathers the migrated tissues and keeps it all in place, with little adjustment throughout the day (which including reaching, lifting, bending, up & down and rotations as I dusted the storage shelf unit and sorted movies and DVDs). I was pleased with how few "adjustments" I needed to make today.I prefer to wear V-neck cut shirts, and surprisingly, this bra barely shows at the top on some of them-- and the top of the bra looks like a simple camisole or swim top, so not a big deal to me. In fact, for a full coverage bra, I'm very pleased that I can still wear my "boob shirts" and V-necks and remain comfortably modest.I've only washed the bra once (before wearing it), and that I used "hand wash" setting on my front loader and I had it in a mesh bag. It laundered well that way (which is how I'm now washing all my bras, because the size I need are hard to find and are expensive); time will tell how well it will hold up (pun intended) to daily wear. The one >con< is the band is now just a bit too tight; but with my weight fluctuations, I'm not terribly surprised.Overall, for a $40 and under price, this bra is "worth it" so far. I'll try to remember to update on longevity. :-) I really hope the pretty blue and the teal leopard will come in this size and for $40 or less-- if so, I'll get a couple more to use as my daily underwires.NOTE: If you wear a US 40J or UK 40GG, then US 38K of this brand and style is the equivalent. It's worth noting, and double check for free returns in case you have to modify your size. I cannot give advice for any other sizes.
